About This Course

100% technical training online taught by the I.G.A.R. Association.

This comprehensive course covers all the fundamental aspects of repairing washing machines. It is divided into two intensive modules where you will learn about tools, using a multimeter and clamp meter, internal components, schematics, motors, timers, and intervention techniques for front-load, top-load, and semi-automatic models.
It also includes specific content on Kohinoor-type dryers.

This course is offered in partnership with Asociación I.G.A.R. – Asociación Civil de Técnicos de Zona Oeste, an organization committed to professional training and the development of technical trades.

Technical fundamentals and first steps

This introductory unit lays the foundations of the trade. You will learn to identify the necessary tools, how to use them correctly and safely, and which products are suitable for technical work. The first hands-on exercises with a multimeter and clamp ammeter are also introduced, which are essential for diagnosis. The module closes with an introduction to semi-automatic models and Kohinoor dryers, ideal for starting with specific repairs.

Diagnosis and Critical Components of the Washing Machine

This unit delves into the analysis of the key elements of the washing machine's operation. Topics include correct equipment installation, evaluation of washing performance, calculation of load volume per cycle, operation of the hydraulic circuit, and identification of the main internal components. In addition, technical verification procedures and diagnostic criteria are presented that allow interpretation of common faults and optimization of repair.

Advanced Diagnosis and Repair of Mechanical Systems

This unit focuses on the technical analysis and intervention of the washing machine's most complex mechanical components. The study will cover in depth the motor systems, timers, and transmission mechanisms, along with the reading and interpretation of technical schematics. Specific practices will also be addressed, such as bearing replacement on front-load models and the complete disassembly of top-load units. The objective is to build a solid operational foundation to tackle high-complexity repairs.

Theoretical – Technical Fundamentals and Specialized Manuals

This unit provides a detailed compilation of technical documentation and key resources for a deep understanding of the operation and repair of washing machines and washer-dryers. It covers installation guides, functional characteristics and performance, hydraulic circuits, electrical diagrams, and complete breakdowns. It includes the study of each component: solenoid valves, pressure switches, heating elements, thermostats, water pumps, motor, timer, and more. Diagnostic procedures, bearing replacement, and applied schematics for both front-load and top-load models are also presented.
